This was the loss that started a rough season for the Rebels. Ole Miss ended 2-10 in 2011 and ended on a seven-game losing streak. The Cougars were fairly successful this season going 10-3 so the Rebels lost to a good team.
What haunts the Rebels with this game is that they lost by one point 14-13. It is hard to start out a season with a close loss like that when it is a team you feel like you should be able to beat.
With BYU in the Big 12 now, the Rebels and Cougars could meet up a lot more in the future, especially in the postseason. The Rebels could get revenge on their close loss at the hands of the Cougars.
