Ole Miss football vs. California football

Ole Miss had a fairly recent home and away series against California. Both games were fairly close, but the Rebels were unable to come away with a win in either of them.

The Rebels first lost to Cal in 2017, the first season of the Matt Luke era, was close but not super close. Ole Miss lost 27-26 and it was the first loss of the season for the Rebels and Matt Luke as their head coach. After facing two smaller schools, Luke had a chance to get a win over a Power 5 and was unable to do it.

The second loss was a closer one as Cal beat Ole Miss 28-20. The 2019 season ended up being the final one for Matt Luke as he was unable to have a season with a record over .500.

Cal is moving to the ACC, which is crazy to think about, but they are, so a matchup could become more likely in the future, whether in the regular season or postseason.
