The 1954 season was a good one for Ole Miss. The Rebels went 9-2 that season with their only loss in the regular season to N. 7 Arkansas. Ole Miss was able to make it to the Sugar Bowl at the end of the season set to take o No. 5 Navy.

It was a top-10 matchup and it seemed like these teams were fairly evenly matched. However, the game did not show that as the Rebels were unable to even get on the scoreboard.

Navy won the game 21-0 to get the win over the Rebels. It has been almost 70 years since these teams met and unless it happens in the postseason again, it probably won't happen again anytime soon.
