Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff are looking to dip into Florida again, working to flip one of their outstanding talents. The Rebels issued an offer to current Syracuse commit Demetres Samuel Jr., the Sunshine State's No. 17-ranked player.

Samuel Jr. is a 2026 four-star prospect and ranked the No.9 safety in the nation by 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Palm Bay native has been committed to Syracuse since March 30.

A 6-foot-0, 185-pound athlete, Samuel Jr. can play anywhere in the secondary and has played on both sides of the ball. Syracuse will need to work hard to ensure they keep hold of his commitment, as there is still a long way to go in his recruitment.

Ole Mis isn't the only team looking to flip the Florida native. Home state teams Miami, Florida State, and Florida are interested in his services, and the Gators sent an offer in March.

Ole Miss make top 12 for 2026 wide receiver

Another top 2026 recruit narrowed his recruiting to 12 teams, with Ole Miss making the talented wide receivers list. Jordon Gidron is among the nation's top wideouts, ranked the No. 6 wide receiver per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The No. 1 ranked prospect in South Carolina, Gidron has some elite programs in his top 12, including seven other SEC teams: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Miami, Duke, North Carolina, Florida State, and NC State are also potential schools Gidron could commit to.

Jordon Gidron recently attended the Under Armour 'Future 50' event, showcasing the best athletes from the 2026 class. Gidron took the opportunity to show schools why he is a top-ranked player, putting on a display of elite hands and high-level acceleration.
