There has been a buzz around Oxford heading into the Peach Bowl. It was generally thanks to the big names committing from the transfer portal, alongside a solid regular season. However, it was two key players who are heading back in 2024 that started in the Peach Bowl victory yesterday.

Ole Miss fans are waking up from the excitement of a famous Peach Bowl victory over Penn State. The win made it a historic season for the Rebels, giving them their first 11-win season in program history.

It caps off an exciting few weeks for Ole Miss, who look to have sealed the number one rank with transfer portal commits. It has brought some excitement to the team, with the belief of a potential national championship, not just a playoff place.

Head coach Lane Kiffin fuelled the excitement with the words "We are just getting started" at the Peach Bowl trophy ceremony.

One thing that will please Kiffin and the Rebel fans is the performances of two key players who will return in 2024. Wide Receiver Tre Harris and tight end Caden Prieskorn both confirmed a few weeks back they would return to Oxford next season, a massive boost to the team.

Tre Harris had seven receptions for 134 yards, with two key catches putting them in scoring positions. Caden Prieskorn had ten receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Harris has shown this season how important he is to the passing game, being the stand-out player in several games. Prieskorn took a while to get going, dealing with an injury and the sad passing of his father. The big tight end dealt with all this and still managed to end the season playing his best football.

Both players showed how important they will be to the team in 2024 with their Peach Bowl performances. Alongside the acquisitions from the transfer portal, it's a scary-looking receiver room for the Rebels.

The next step for Ole Miss is to get their star quarterback Jaxson Dart to say yes to another season in Oxford, as well as running back Quinshon Judkins.
