Ole Miss Football predicted to have a top-three explosive offense in 2024
The 2024 college football season may not be ready for the Ole Miss Football offense in 2024. Brad Crawford of 247 Sports agrees, projecting them to be a top-three explosive offense this season.
When Jaxson Dart announced he was heading back for the 2024 season on January 1, Ole Miss fans were buckling themselves in for the season. Dart followed receivers Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins, as well as tight end Caden Prieskorn, in committing to the 2024 season.
The Rebels have strengthened their offensive line and added more talented receivers via the transfer portal. Even with the departure of star running back Quinshon Judkins, the media are high on the Ole Miss offense.
Brad Crawford of 247 Sports is extremely high on what this Rebels offense can do in 2024. Crawford projected Ole Miss as the third most explosive offense during the 2024 season, behind Ohio State and Oregon. They are two spots ahead of Texas, making them the highest projected team from the SEC.
Last season, the Rebels were ranked 12 in yards per passing play, averaging 9.0 yards per pass attempted. Their running game brought that total down to 6.1 yards per play. The stats fall off partially due to a slow start from Judkins in the first four games.
Back-up running back Ulysses Bentley IV was the more productive of the two players last season, averaging 1.4 more yards a carry than Judkins. Bentley IV will return for Ole Miss with help from redshirt freshman Kedrick Reescano and injured LSU transfer Logan Diggs when available.
With the spring transfer portal opening on April 15, Lane Kiffin could dip in for some players again, especially to strengthen the running back room.
One thing is for sure is that this Rebels offense will be exciting to watch next season. Strap yourselves in for some explosive Saturdays with Jaxson Dart and the team.
