Running Back

Ulysses Bentley IV, Henry Parrish Jr., Rashad Amos, Domonique Thomas, Logan Diggs (IR)

We have spoken in other articles about how Lane Kiffin will use this running back room, and it's anybody's guess. Ulysses Bentley IV is the only returning back from last season's roster. He was highly productive with his carries. He outproduced the departed Quinshon Judkins and could be in line to see the bulk of the carries.

Henry Parrish Jr. returns to Oxford after spending two seasons at Miami. During the 2021 season, Parrish was part of a three-player rotation in rushing and as a receiving back. Parrish is familiar with running back coach Kevin Smith, playing under him at Ole Miss and Miami. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Bentley and Parrish see the majority of the carries.

Bentley and Parrish are under 200 pounds, not under-sized, but not as physical at the line as the next guy, Rashad Amos. A transfer from Miami (OH), Amos is listed as 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds. Watching his tape, he hits the line like a bowling bowl, with the RedHawks using him on short-yardage plays and inside the five-yard line. Amos offers more than just being a wrecking ball; we could see more of him later in the season.

Domonique Thomas was another transfer in this off-season. Thomas had a small sample size of production while at Clemson, but it was positive stuff. Thomas has two years of eligibility remaining, so we could see more of him next season.

Logan Diggs is currently rehabbing from knee surgery. No precise time scale has emerged for his return, but reports suggest he could be back at the end of the season. When Diggs is healthy and ready to go, it gives the Rebels another productive piece at the position.
