The Rebel's final bye week comes at a good time, after the Georgia game. They get to rest up before the final road game against Florida in the Swamp.
In Billy Napier's second season as head coach, it was another disappointing one. The Gators finished 5-7, missing out on a bowl game. After starting the season 5-2, Florida lost their final five games. One of those losses was to Arkansas, their only in-conference victory.
Despite the performances on the field, Napier and the team are still recruiting at a high level. Veteran quarterback Graham Mertz, a bright spark in 2023, looks to be staying for another season.
Billy Naper is on the hot seat heading into the 2024 season. The Gators head coach is recruiting well. If he can get the players to perform on the field, they could be a very dangerous team. That is a big if the way it looks now.
