The first Southeastern conference team Ole Miss will face in 2024 will be Kentucky at home.
Head coach Mark Stoops guided the Wildcats to a third successive winning season, finishing 2023 with a 7-5 record. Kentucky had an impressive win over their rivals Louisville, securing a winning season.
The wheels are already in motion to improve the team in 2024. They have attacked the transfer portal on offense, acquiring Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff and Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum. They also picked up North Texas wide receiver Ja'Mori Maclin.
Ole Miss lead the series 30-14 against Kentucky, with one tie. They met last season, with the Rebels edging out the Wildcats 22-19 thanks to a late field goal.
On paper, the new transfers make Kentucky a much better offensive team next season. With the game coming early in the season, the Wildcats may be still trying to find their groove with their new additions. It will also be a tougher game with it being in Oxford.
