In week 6 of the 2024 season, Ole Miss will be on the road at the Williams-Brice Stadium, taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
It was a tough season for South Carolina and head coach Shane Beamer, winning just five games. They lost six games in their first eight, winning against FCS team Furman while scraping past a poor Mississippi State team.
The Gamecocks gave up the third most offensive yards in the SEC, behind Vanderbilt and LSU. Quarterback Spencer Rattler is departing for the NFL Draft, which leaves them with a hole to fill. 2023 QB recruit LaNorris Sellers could be the starter in 2024. However, recent rumours have surfaced saying Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson could be a potential transfer for coach Beamer.
Ole Miss holds a slender 9-8 lead in the series, last playing in 2020, which the Rebels won 59-42.
The Gamecocks are an unknown next season. However, they are trending to another down season in 2024. Ole Miss will fancy their chances despite the game being a road one.
