Ole Miss Football: Three 2024 recruits that could sign with the Rebels
College football's early national signing day is a week away, with Ole Miss looking to make one final push for 2024 recruits. Most of the top players have already committed to teams. However, that doesn't stop head coaches and staff from trying to flip player commitments last minute.
Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin has been working the transfer portal since it opened last week. Focus will now shift to the 2024 recruiting class, with early national signing day coming on Dec.20 till Dec.22. Can Kiffin and the team work their magic to get some 2024 recruits to sign with Ole Miss?
Kewan Lacy, RB
Kewan Lacy is the number six ranked running back from the 2024 recruiting class via on3. Lacy decommitted from Nebraska at the end of October, with some SEC schools sending offers.
The Texas native has had two crystal ball predictions to Ole Miss via 247sports. Lacy would be an excellent addition to the Rebels running back room that features Quinshon Judkins and 2023 four-star recruit Kedrick Reescano, also from Texas.
Anthony Maddox, QB
A Mississippi native, quarterback Anthony Maddox is currently committed to Texas A&M and has been since early this year. Maddox, the number 23 composite quarterback from the 2024 class, visited Oxford this past weekend.
His father, Anthony Maddox Sr., has said that Ole Miss could expect a decision this coming weekend on a potential flip from the Aggies. Maddox Sr has connections to the Rebel's defensive coordinator Pete Golding, who played together at Delta State back in college.
As it stands, Ole Miss does not have a quarterback commit from the 2024 class. Anthony Maddox would be a welcome arrival if Kiffin can get him to flip his commitment.
Tristen Fortenberry, OT
Another native of Mississippi, OT Tristen Fortenberry could be heading to Oxford. Fortenberry is a big offensive tackle, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 275 lbs. He is not one of the stellar 2024 recruits, but that doesn't mean it's not a great pick-up if Kiffin secures his services.
David Johnson, a lead expert for the Rebels at 247sports, logged a crystal bowl for Fortenberry to head to Ole Miss early this month. When Fortenberry was offered by Ole Miss last week, he said it would be the "dream school" to play at.
