With all the buzz around players coming into Oxford via the transfer portal, the Rebels have had a few that have departed themselves. One player who entered the transfer portal earlier today is somebody who you may have forgotten was on the roster.

Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg has confirmed on social media platform X that he is entering the transfer portal.

Trigg has not featured for the team since the week two game against Tulane, scoring a touchdown in the victory. Head coach Lane Kiffin spoke a few weeks later, explaining that the tight end had left the program while wishing him the best going forward. No explanation was given as to why the decision was made.

Michael Trigg transferred from USC alongside current quarterback Jaxson Dart. During his first season, he had just 17 receptions for 156 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Before leaving the program this season, he had four receptions, one of them the touchdown against Tulane.

The Florida native was a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, with a number of top teams sending out offers.

Trigg has always had the reputation of being one of the best tight ends in the league. However, injuries have set him back, amongst other things. He will be hoping the second transfer will help him find a home to unlock his ability.
