Ole Miss Football to hire Texas director of player personnel as new general manager
Ole Miss Football have ended their search for a new general manager, hiring Texas director of player personnel Billy Glasscock.
Austin Thomas, who joined the Rebels in 2022, heads back to LSU to work with multiple sports while working directly with the athletic director Scott Woodward.
It took the Rebels five days to hone in on their next general manager. Sources have confirmed to 247sports that Texas director of player personnel Billy Glasscock is set to be appointed as the Ole Miss football GM.
Glasscock has been working with Steve Sarkisian for three years at Texas, helping recruit some of the most talented players to the Longhorns.
It's another big appointment for Ole Miss Football, following the arrivals of new tight end coach Joe Cox and new wide receivers coach George McDonald.
Billy Glasscock has been at the forefront of player recruitment at Texas and previously, NC State. He helped Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian build the roster that made it to the College Football Playoff this past season.
Although Lane Kiffin targets the transfer portal with high importance, he still has top 25 recruiting classes. Kiffin could see an uptick in more recruits heading into Oxford with the addition of Billy Glasscock.
