Ole Miss Footballs' Princely Umanmielen Throws Shade At Previous Coaching in Florida

Florida transfer Princely Umanmielen was one of Lane Kiffin's marque portal commitments. The defensive end recently praised his new coaching staff while taking shots at his previous ones.

Ole Miss Football has the number one transfer portal class in the country. Defensive end Princely Umanmielen was a big part of that. A few weeks into spring practice, he is getting his feet under him at his new home.

In recent comments, Umanmielen spoke about the coaching style he received in Gainesville.

Umanmielen Praises Ole Miss Coaching Staff

As well as discussing the coaching at Florida, Umanmielen praised the new coaching staff at Ole Miss. The fifth-year senior mentioned coaches Lou Spanos and Randall Joyner in helping him understand differently his defensive role.

""Coach Spanos and coach Joyner, they’re really on me about the little things,” Umanmielen said. “Attacking the run. Coach Lou really goes through the progressions of the drops and the routes that are being run when I have to go into coverage. When I was at Florida they would just tell me go drop to this area and I would have to figure everything else out on my own.”"

Umanmielen said he had developed as a player in run defense during his short time with Ole Miss. Kiffin will hope the big defensive end will be a game changer along with Texas A&M transfer Walter Nolen.

Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart Played Big Part in Recruiting Umanmielen

Lane Kiffin has spoken about Dart and his efforts in recruiting players this off-season. Umanmielen said Dart played an important role in getting him to Oxford. He said Dart would video call and FaceTime him to get him to commit to the Rebels.

Umanmielen said Dart and the chance to play under Lane Kiffin was what drew him to commit to Ole Miss. Attracted to how Kiffin "ran the team."
