Ole Miss Rebels vs. South Carolina: Final odds and predictions
It's game 6 for Ole Miss this season, and it's important. It may seem early for a must-win game, but when the goals are a post-season 12-team playoff, the Rebels need this to stay at one loss with tougher games to come.
When on it, Ole Miss can beat you on the ground or throw the air on offence. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Tre Harris have combined for 804 offensive yards, the most in the nation after Week 5. South Carolina will have to find a way to stop that connection, but nobody has managed to come up with a solution.
The offensive line will be vital in giving Dart enough time to find his targets. The Gamecocks have a fast, bendy defensive end pair in Dylan Stewart and Kyle Kennard. Right tackle Micah Pettus is questionable for the game and will be a big miss if he is ruled out. If the Rebels can keep the pressure on Dart to a minimum, then they have a big chance of winning the game.
The South Carolina offence is very one-dimensional, but it's effective. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers has only thrown for 393 passing yards in three games, missing last week's game with an injury. He looks to be back today, alongside running back Raheom Sanders, who has combined 336 rushing yards, and that is what Ole Miss must stop. Luckily, that is a strength of this team, allowing just 51.3 rushing yards per game.
This has all the makings of a classic SEC match-up. Expect points and plenty of offence, with the game coming down to who's offensive line plays the best. The game is live on ESPN at 2:30 p.m. CST.
