As we keep hearing, Ole Miss's loss to Kentucky in Week 5 has dealt a blow to its playoff aspirations. With LSU, Georgia, and Oklahoma to come, the Rebels must bounce back with a win in Week 6. It won't be easy, though, with a road game against South Carolina, who are playing some good football.
The Gamecocks sit at 3-1 and come off a Week 5 bye, so they have managed to get quarterback LaNorris Sellers and running back Raheem Sanders fresh after slight injury concerns. This is an explosive rushing team, something Ole Miss has dealt with successfully in the opening five games.
This game looks as simple as who can move the ball more successfully against the defensive front, with both offences having to deal with different issues. Can the Ole Miss offensive line hold up against some fast, twitchy defensive ends? And can South Carolina move the ball on the ground against a solid defensive line for the Rebels?
The Rebels hope the offence does not fall flat again, which is the primary issue as to why the team fell short against the Wildcats. It's an intriguing Week 6 game, and winning on the road is never easy in the SEC. Lane Kiffin's team must do it to get their playoff hopes back on track.
