On3 HER Top-25 Post-Spring Womens Basketball Rankings Released with Ole Miss Sneaking In
Ole Miss Women are building a team to compete again in the 2024-25 season. On3s Talia Goodman agrees, ranking them in the post-spring top-25.
Ole Miss Women's basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has been quietly assembling a team that can go even further than it did this previous season. A second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament to Notre Dame was a tough pill to swallow after an excellent regular season.
The positives of a third-place finish in the SEC standings in 2023-24 and a third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament mean Coach Yo is the right head coach for the Lady Rebels.
Talia Goodman, media analyst at On3 for women's basketball, believes in what McPhee-McCuin and Ole Miss are trying to achieve. Goodman released her post-spring top-25 rankings, with the Rebels sneaking in at No.24.
Despite being ranked much higher in the AP Poll before week 1 of the 2023-24 season, Goodman still considers the Rebels one of the better sides in the early stages of the off-season.
"Ole Miss returns a veteran core of Kennedy Todd-Williams, Madison Scott and KK Deans, who’s coming back from an injury she suffered early last season. But the Rebels also made an impact in the portal, adding Michigan State transfer DeeDee Hagemann, UCLA’s Christeen Iwuala and Arkansas Pine-Bluff transfer Starr Jacobs, who last played in the 2022-23 season. This added depth will aid Ole Miss next season in a tough SEC conference."

Coach Yo is considering bringing more players in via the transfer portal. However, as of May 14, the roster looks in good shape post-spring.
