SEC program fans already calling for Lane Kiffin as their new head coach

Week 1 of college football is already underway, with plenty of fallout from several fan bases—so much so that Lane Kiffin is a wanted man.

Lane Kiffin saw his Ole Miss side lay an offensive beatdown on FCS team Furman Saturday, reaching a record total of 76 points during his time at the program. Several hours earlier, Florida had fallen to rivals Miami in the Swamp, an embarrassing 41-17 loss for the Gators and head coach Billy Napier.

Napier was the preseason favorite to be the first head coach fired this season, and the Miami game did not help his cause. The Gators have the toughest schedule in the nation, so despite a cupcake game this coming weekend, things don't look to be getting better anytime soon.

It's already too much for some Florida fans, with one taking to the message boards at Swamp247 and asking for Lane Kiffin, AKA the Lane train, to be their next head coach.

Another fan asked for Kiffin or Washington head coach Jedd Fisch. The writing could be on the wall for Napier, but he has some time as it stands. How long until he runs out of it is another question.

Recent interview suggest Kiffin is happier than ever in Oxford

ESPN writer Chris Low recently wrote a major article on Lane Kiffin after an in-depth interview with the Ole Miss head coach. When talking about past head coaching job opportunities, he was close to heading to Auburn in 2022, but his daughter Landry talked him out of it.

He also talked about his son, Knox, coming to Oxford next summer to play football at Oxford High School. Lane's brother Chris has joined the coaching staff, with nearly all his family living on the same street in Mississippi.

Although he has considered other jobs in the past, it feels different now; it feels like he has found a home. Kiffin has significant backing from the AD and the Grove Collective, and he has the ammunition to attempt to challenge the big boys in conference and college football. If the Florida job becomes available, Kiffin looks happy at Ole Miss.
