Several Ole Miss Players Enter Their Name Into the Transfer Portal Before the Shutoff
Ole Miss Football running back Kedrick Reescano and several other Rebels have entered the transfer portal.
The college football spring transfer portal closed on April 30, and several Ole Miss players entered their names into it. One of the big names was running back Kedrick Reescano, a previous four-star recruit from the 2023 class.
There was a concern that Reescano could be a candidate to hit the transfer portal, with Ole Miss adding two experienced RBs early in the spring portal. Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Henry Parrish joined Ulysses Bentley and the injured Logan Diggs in the running back room.
Coming off a freshman season where he only saw action on special teams, Reescano may again have seen limited action at running back in 2024. Heading into his second year, the Texas native will look to find a home where he can get some starting reps.
Reescano was a previous four-star recruit from the 2023 recruiting class, ranked the No. 8 prospect at running back by 247Sports.
Which Other Ole Miss Players Have Entered the Transfer Portal?
The other Ole Miss player to enter the portal on April 30 was 2023 linebacker Skielar Mann. The three-star recruit did not see the field in his freshman season. Mann will consider his options before deciding where to transfer.
On April 29, another big player, cornerback Amorion Walker, announced he was entering the transfer portal. The former Michigan player transferred to Ole Miss on January 17. When Walker committed to the Rebels, he was seen as a starting cornerback alongside Alabama transfer Trey Amos.
It is unknown if other players moved ahead of Walker in the depth chart or if he was not planning to head back to Michigan, as the rumors suggest.
Head coach Lane Kiffin will look to add more players over the next week of the transfer portal. We will see if the position groups where players have left the program will be strengthened.
