We are still hours away from the Week 3 AP Poll Top 25, but the early reactions from the media are already having their say. Ole Miss had another expected win and did it with more style points, especially on offense.

My early suggestions were that the Rebels could move up a place, with No.5 ranked Notre Dame being shocked by Northern Illinois in South Bend. However, the media believe Ole Miss will stay at No.6, with Tennessee, the new team, moving above them in the rankings.

RJ Young was one of several college football media analysts that had Tennessee landing at the No.4 spot after their impressive win against ranked opposition; The Volunteers beat No. 24 ranked NC State 51-10 in the Duke Mayo Classic. Young dropped Ole Miss to No.5 from No.4, but most media analysts have kept the Rebels at No.6.

The Wolfpack struggled in week 1, edging past Western Carolina, so we will see how good the Tennessee win is in a few weeks.

Rankings are always fun, but we only need a little reading into this early in the season, as we do not know how much weight teams' wins and losses hold. If NC State goes on to win ten games, that Volunteers win looks impressive; if they only win six, it doesn't feel as great.

Will Tennessee jump above Ole Miss in the AP Poll?

Despite the media predicting Tennessee jumping into the top 5 from No.14, it's not often that AP poll voters follow suit with what the media predicts.

They could move into the No.5 spot, but I am more inclined to predict that they move into the top 10, potentially the No.6 or No.7 spot ahead of Oregon and Missouri. We will see how it unfolds, but there will be two new teams in the top 10, with Michigan at No.10 and Notre Dame at No.4 set to drop out after losses.
