The 2026 Draft results entirely missed the mark for an Ole Miss program that was expecting much more Day 3 action. However, one particular promising player going entierly undrafted, and then unsigned as an UDFA left them scrambling their heads.
It didn't take them too long to connect the dots, though, as they soon saw why the NFL teams left a 6'7", 320 pounds physical anomaly out in the cold.
Past ghosts still haunting Zxavain Harris?
Although Harris was an excellent run stopper who also showcased a disruptive ability in special teams as a kick blocker for the Rebels, it's the off-the-field concerns that may have taken him off some team's draft boards.
Harris was reportedly arrested and charged with domestic violence and obstructing arrest in 2024.
Harris also faced charges in 2023 of driving under the influence, reckless driving, being a minor in possession, not using headlights, running a stop sign and felony fleeing.
According to the Lafayette County District Attorney's office, Harris was entered into a pre-trial intervention program for his felony fleeing charge from 2023.
Another possible reason why he's a become a persona non grata is his very recent foot injury, and a surgery afterwards.
Harris participated in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine but didn't participate in any drills since he had his right foot injured. He had a right foot surgery after, according to The Athletic, and didn;t participate in any drills at the Ole Miss Pro Day drills either.
Four of the five Ole Miss UDFA players have been signed by now, expect Harris. It'll be a thing to keep an eye out for if any team takes a gamble on him.
