Ole Miss basketball head coach Chris Beard had a fantastic 2024 transfer portal. The several players he added helped the program break numerous records, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance at the NCAA Tournament.
Beard has added just one player in 2025, LSU transfer Corey Chest. The addition is excellent defensively, and with Malik Dia heading back, Beard will be happy with his potential work around the boards. However, with so many players heading out due to burning eligibility, Beard needs to add some experienced transfers.
There is still plenty of time for Ole Miss to round out its roster. Here are several players that the Rebels are working on adding to the team.
Keyshawn Murphy, Forward - Mississippi State
One of the Rebels' rivals looks to have lost a good player in Keyshawn Murphy, with Auburn and Alabama showing interest in the junior forward. He entered the portal with a do-not-contact tag. However, Ole Miss and others are said to be interested, but can they challenge his home state, the Crimson Tide, who look to be favorites?
Murphy finished the 2024-25 season averaging 11.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. It would be some get for Ole Miss, but others look to be ahead at this stage.
Jaron Pierre, Guard - Jacksonville State
In the top five leading scorers from the 2024-25 season, Jaron Piere is down to his final four schools. Ole Miss has made the cut Arkansas, Auburn, and SMU. Aside from him being a tremendous scorer, the Jacksonville State transfer is one of the top talents left in the portal.
Pierre averaged 21.6 ppg, 5.5 RPG, and 3.8 APG on 42.4% FG and 38.2% 3PT for the Gamecocks last year and would be a pivotal addition for Coach Beard.
Ante Brzovic, Forward - Charleston
Some top programs have reached out to Ante Brzovic, including Ole Miss, Texas, Clemson, USC, and many more. The Croatian has entered the transfer portal but is currently in a battle with the NCAA, with them believing he has burnt his eligibility. However, Brzovic is challenging that.
The 6-10 senior averaged 18.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game this season and would be another good scorer for Ole Miss.
