Ole Miss football experienced a lull in recruiting news during the middle of May, but that has picked up drastically again. Although they have seen no commitments, they continue to put themselves in good positions for some of the top talent in the nation.

Lane Kiffin and offensive line coach John Garrison have targeted some of the top linemen in the 2026 recruiting class, something they have not had much luck with over the years, and when they do hit a higher-rated lineman, it's not worked out as they had hoped.

Florida native Johnnie "DJ" Jones is one OT that the Rebels have recruited heavily, and it looks to be paying off. The 6-foot-7, 315lb big man has dropped his top six schools, consisting of Ole Miss, Colorado, Florida State, Penn State, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.

Jones is ranked the No. 8 offensive tackle per On3. The On3 Industry Rankings have him as the No.18 player in Florida. He had an official visit to Oxford back in April and was left impressed, telling On3, “It has a different vibe than the other places I have been.”

After a strong start to May, Ole Miss found itself ranked No. 15 in the On3 Team rankings. That could improve this next weekend as they welcome several top prospects to Oxford, including a big flip target. Tennessee tight-end commit Carson Sneed, the No.16 player at the position and rated four-star.

While they chase new commitments, Kiffin and his staff need to look after the current players committed. Running back Ja'Michael Jones and cornerback Braylen Williams will also visit in June but are currently committed to the Rebels.
