Hardly anyone expected the shift from Kiffin to Golding to be that smooth in the College Football Playoff.
Yet, the Rebels locker room did the unbelievable and made it to the semifinals.
Reflecting back on his incredible season with Ole Miss, QB Trinidad Chambliss broke down how the locker room adapted to shift.
How Pete Golding was different from Lane Kiffin
"Coach Golding, he brings a different mindset, I would say, and a different personality than how Coach Kiffin would. Nothing against him or Coach Kiffin... they're two different people," Chambliss told For The Win's Cory Woodroof.
The players didn't require any drop-offs; everyone knew what went down and what they had to do next.
Of course, Golding opening up the playbook and his soul helped.
"I feel like our team adjusted well to Coach Golding stepping in and showing leadership and showing that he cares about this team and that he'll do whatever it takes to win a game."
"There was no, I guess, drop-off or anything like that. We knew it had to be done, and I mean, it was just all about going out there, executing and just playing for ourselves and playing for this team."
It is clear that the teams hasn't looked back since.
Golding and the players staying true to their roles helped Ole Miss move on from the Kiffin chapter a lot faster than anyone expected.
It was almost as if Golding made it his job to prove the fan-favorite quote 'no Kiffin, no problem,' true.
