Trinidad Chambliss is no one-hit wonder.

A week after the transfer quarterback from Division II Ferris State dazzled fans in his debut, Chambliss put together another impressive performance, leading Ole Miss to a 45-10 win over Tulane.

Chambliss threw for 307 yards with two touchdowns and added 112 rushing yards on 14 carries. He became the fourth player in Ole Miss history to have 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game.

After a week of speculation, multiple reports had Chambliss as the expected starter today, and he did not disappoint. The senior threw touchdown passes to Dae'Quan Wright and Deuce Alexander while showing complete command over the offense. Chambliss also didn't commit any turnovers, which really made head coach Lane Kiffin happy.

"I thought Trinidad played great. The thing I love the most is not turning the ball over two weeks in a row, because if you do that, you will win a lot of games. First [team] offense didn't turn it over back-to-back weeks," Kiffin said. "And he played really clean. No balls on the ground. One sack. He carries the ball 14 times and only loses two yards. 419 yards total in three and a half quarters is really good against a defense that has stopped a lot of people."

Through two games, Chambliss has 660 yards passing and 174 yards rushing with four touchdowns and no turnovers.

"For Trinidad to play like this says a lot about him, and it's a lot of preparation to get somebody ready, because Austin was definitely our starter and Trinidad had to do a lot of mental reps. He had to spend a lot of time in the office going over things just in case and preparing like a starter," Kiffin exclaimed.

Tough decision looms for Kiffin

Next week is the Magnolia Bowl against LSU, and it's likely going to be a matchup of top-10 teams. Chambliss is the hot hand, but Simmons was available to play today, according to Kiffin. If Simmons improves over the next week, will Kiffin make the switch back to the player that he says is definitely the starting quarterback?

Kiffin said he was not ready to speak on what might happen next week.

"I don't know that. Like I said, Trinidad played really well. Austin was playing really well before he got hurt, and I don't know where Austin would be exactly," Kiffin added. "He was available, he was not 100 percent, but he would've gone in today if we needed him. And that says a lot about Austin too. He got himself ready to play again this week."
