Ole Miss has several players preparing for the NFL Draft process to ramp up. This week, we will see all-star games, the Shrine Bowl, and the Senior Bowl, with players looking to put on a show in front of the NFL scouts.

During the days before the games, players will be grabbed by various media sites and asked to talk not only about the draft and the future but also about their time during college.

Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen discussed just that with LouisianaSportsDotNet, discussing everything, including his time at Ole Miss under head coach Lane Kiffin.

"Lane he is a players coach, so really Ole Miss is like a players team honestly."
Walter Nolen

After spending two seasons with the Aggies, Nolen transferred from Texas A&M before the 2024 season. His time there was not the happiest, deciding to hit the transfer portal. After talking to a few teams, he decided that the Lane Kiffin-coached Rebels was the best fit for him.

He made the right decision; although the team didn't make the College Football Playoffs, Nolen's draft stock has shot right up after the 2024 season. Most draft analysts have him as the No.2 interior defensive tackle.

Heading into the 2024 season, he was seen as a second-round draft pick with plenty of upside, and scouts wanted to see that upside come to fruition this past season.

Nolen helped Ole Miss have the nation's top-ranked defense against the run, allowing under 90 yards per game. He also had his best season in nearly every area, including 6.5 sacks.

He now has first-round draft pick potential, and these comments surrounding Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss look a good place for future players who wan't to find a home that feels like a family.
