The college football transfer portal has been open for nearly three weeks, and most players have little time to enter. The portal will close on December 28.
Ole Miss and a handful of other teams, including teams still in the College Football Playoff, have longer periods during which their players can enter the transfer portal. The Rebel players have an extra five days after their bowl game to enter the portal, which is seen as the end of their season.
It allows players to play in their bowl game and decide whether to enter the transfer portal. Ole Miss players will have until January 7 to enter, with the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl set to take place on January 2 against Duke.
Ole Miss lost a handful of players to the transfer portal
The Rebels have already lost a significant number of players to the transfer portal, the majority of whom are backup offensive linemen. Micha Pettus was the only starter from the offensive line to enter the portal, but the news suggests Ole Miss was happy to let him leave.
The two losses from the secondary that were significant blows were Jadon Canady and potentially Louis Moore. Moore is reportedly set to enter the portal, but it's not yet been made official.
Lane Kiffin is likely hoping to convince him to stay in Oxford, as Morre could be a starter in 2025, with most of the secondary burning their eligibility.
It's unlikely we will see much activity after the Gator Bowl game regarding Ole Miss players entering the portal, but we will see if there is any movement after the game against Duke.
