Ole Miss saw two players selected on Day 1 of the NFL Draft, with Walter Nolen and Jaxson Dart selected in the first round. The Rebels still had several players looking to hear their names called; some were expecting to be drafted on day 2.
Here are the Ole Miss players that heard their name called in round 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft.
Round 2, Pick 55 - Los Angeles Chargers - Tre Harris, Wide Receiver
Rebels wide receiver Tre Harris went out west to the Los Angeles Chargers, teaming up with head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harris could have easily been a first-round selection, but injuries in the last two seasons have seen him slip to the second round. They finished with over 1,000 years in 2024 despite missing five games.
Round 2, Pick 61 - Washington Commanders - Trey Amos, Cornerback
Cornerback Trey Amos slipped to the second round's back end, which surprised most analysts. Some have highlighted that it may have been due to his health. The Commanders are getting a lengthy corner who attacks the ball well and was near lockdown in 2024 for the Rebels.
Round 3, Pick 77 - Carolina Panthers - Princely Umanmielen, Edge
Princely Umanmielen went to Carolina and brought havoc from the edge. The Panthers picked another edge in the second round with Texas A&M's Nic Scourton. It adds depth to the position, complementing each other with their skill sets. If both manage to break into the lineup, it will be an interesting one-two pass rush. Umanmielen finished with 10.5 sacks with Ole Miss after he transferred from Florida, easily his best season in college despite missing games with injuries.
