Ahmad Hardy, Louisiana–Monroe
Another player who recently visited Oxford, ULM running back Ahmad Hardy, was impressed with Ole Miss's offerings. Speaking to On3, Hardy said, "They need a running back, and I'm coming to play."
As a freshman, Hardy did not receive a rating from any recruiting outlet, committing to Louisiana-Monroe. In his first season, he carried the ball 237 times for 1,351 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. From zero rating to a four-star running back in the portal, 247Sports has him as the No.4 ranked player.
Hardy is a talent, a physical back, and generates plenty of yards after contact. He is a running back. The Rebels could have a talented, physical back who, this season, is a player with a low center of gravity and break-away speed.
Once again, Ole Miss is battling Auburn for Hardy, but the Tigers have already seen a running back commit, so does that mean the Rebels are in the driving seat?
Fluff Bothwell, South Alabama
No visit has been arranged with South Alabama transfer Fluff Bothwell, but Ole Miss has shown interest. Bothwell, another true freshman in 2024, had a sensational first season with the Jaguars. He carried the ball 111 times for 832 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 7.5 yards per carry.
A great size for a running back, standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 219 pounds, Bothwell is another yard after the contact machine. Stick on his highlights from last season, and it takes two guys at least to bring him down.
A three-star prospect out of Alabama, Bothwell has received plenty of attention from top programs across the Power Four Conferences. The Rebels have four-star talent from the 2025 class and are also looking at top JUCO players. If Ole Miss is all in on Hardy, then I don't think they will add another high-ranked transfer at running back.
