5. Arkansas

Arkansas has only been in the SEC since 1992, but the Rebels and Razorbacks have played every season since 1981. The two teams played each other in the 1963 and 1970 Sugar Bowls, with Ole Miss winning both games. All-time, the Razorbacks lead the series 34-28-1.

However, the reasoning for Arkansas cracking into the top five has much more to do with games in this millennium and a certain head coach jumping from one program to the other.

Most memorable games: 2001 Arkansas 58, Ole Miss 56

2008 Ole Miss 23, Arkansas 21

2015 Arkansas 53, Ole Miss 52

Reason for the hate: Ole Miss had a chance to go to Atlanta in 2015, but a Hunter Henry heave propelled the Hogs to a miraculous win in Oxford. The Razorbacks also broke Rebel fans’ hearts in 2001 with a seven overtime victory, tied for the longest game in Division I history.

Ole Miss fans delight in former Razorback coach Houston Nutt winning his first game as an opponent in Fayetteville in 2008.
