Ole Miss Softball: #22 Rebels Take Memphis With 4-0 Shutout
#22 Ole Miss softball welcomed the Memphis Tigers to the Ole Miss Softball Complex, Wednesday night in game-1 of a long 4 game home-stand. Ole Miss came into the midweek match-up after dropping a very tight SEC series to the #4 Auburn Tigers this past weekend.
The #22 Ole Miss softball team has been fighting it’s way through a very tough schedule. With a 4-game home-stand, beginning against Memphis, it isn’t getting any easier. Memphis (23-19) is a strong team and a very formidable opponent. Add to that, the close proximity of the two schools and you have a heated rivalry. Of course, LSU is coming.
#22 Ole Miss (27-13) needed to take control of the Tigers early, in order to preserve their national ranking and to build momentum going back into a tough SEC schedule. Behind the strong performance of the ever-reliable Kaitlin Lee, the Rebels would take down Memphis and look forward to LSU, coming to Oxford in another weekend SEC series.

As mentioned before, Kaitlin Lee (10-6, 2.24) was in control for the entire contest. Lee has been dominating the duty in the circle as of late, and has shown a strong and durable arm.
According to OleMIssSports.com, Lee worked her 6th straight complete game and her 5th shutout of the season last night.
Of course, Lee went the distance and picked up the shutout while allowing only 6 hits and chalking up 2 Ks.
At The Plate
The Ole Miss Rebels were strong Wednesday night against a pretty strong Memphis pitcher. Of course, the Rebels were able to pick up 4 runs on 7 hits. Although there were several errors (5) by both squads, the Rebels were able to capitalize and conquer.
Elantra Cox was 2 for 4 scoring a run. Kylen Becker went 1 for 2 at the plate, while scoring 2 runs and knocking in an RBI. Also, having a productive night at the plate, Miranda Strother was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.

Ole Miss softball welcomes #11 LSU to Oxford Friday night in a 3-game weekend series. First pitch will be at 2pm CT and will be televised on SEC+.
