Kentucky Wildcats

Although known more for their basketball, the Kentucky Wildcats have been trying to field a competitive football team. For the past few years many pundits have wondered would this be the year for Kentucky to make a leap to the forefront of the Eastern Division of the SEC. Yet, each year ends with a resounding “NO”. They finished last season with seven wins and ended with a loss in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

This year the Wildcats look as if they will be hovering around the .500 mark again. It is the life they are used to while playing in the SEC East. However, they will be competitive all year. They will be a difficult out and they will see close losses.

Going to Williams-Brice Stadium during the third week of the season will end in a loss to South Carolina. They will also have defeats against Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia. Also, Louisville will be looking for revenge at home against the Wildcats and it may not even be close.

Kentucky will have toss-up games against Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. If they split those games, the match versus the Rebels is huge. However, it doesn’t matter. They are really just waiting for basketball season.
