Shea’s Comfortable

Ole Miss Rebels Football

The “just ready to play football” statement has been used so much in recent weeks it’s almost sounded cliché. However Shea has been ready to play since last season ended. Shea is always ready to play football. Most Ole Miss football fans were just ready to Shea and see how he progressed. The progression has been impressive.

However, impressed with Shea Patterson is an understatement. Although we did see a few instances where he had to leave the pocket, for the most part he was well protected. The Ole Miss offensive line did allow two sacks on the night. However, the main thing I took away from Shea’s performance was the fact he looked comfortable all night.

Having nine months to work on his craft and get better was evident. He didn’t get rattled. He kept his composure throughout the night and didn’t force throws in bad situations. Shea played really good smart football and had no interceptions. The few instances where he was under duress he was able to rely on his footwork to minimize the rush.

I’ve said it before, this kid is really special and this season he will prove it to the SEC and the nation. Of course, he had some help. Shea has possibly the best receiving corps in the nation. He also has a record-breaker.
