Ole Miss Football: A Look At The Little Egg Bowl, G-men And The Big D
As a Ole Miss football fan I have an acquired interest in this game this evening. Doc was a Ole Miss fan from old school and loved the Giants. He was a huge Charlie Conerly fan simply because he was a part of Ole Miss. Hence, the red and blue for me also has a Giant shine to it. Even more so with Eli Manning being from Ole Miss and the Giants QB.
So today, we have the conclusion of the NFL week one. Of course, we have the Giants, led by Eli headed to ‘Jerry’s House’ to take on the former MSU quarterback Dak Prescott. Last season this game was glamorized as the ‘Little Egg Bowl’ by fans of both Ole Miss and Miss State. While Dak was Rookie of the Year in 2016, he couldn’t get the win against the G-men. Will he finally get it this season?
Ole Miss Rebels Football
I have to say no. Eli Manning is his Achilles heel. There is no victory for Dak against the Giants. The G-men have his number again this season just like last.
Still there is a need to play the game and once again prove this Giant’s team is dominant over the Big D. Eli Manning has some unfinished business in his final encore and this is his season.
How It Goes Down
In a few hours Eli Manning will take the field in Jerry’s House and Eli and Company will take over. This is a new Giants receiving corp with some very serious weapons.
Even with Odell Beckham Jr listed as questionable there are still other targets available to Eli. Of course, one is first-round draft pick TE Evan Engram.
Let’s also don’t count out Shepard and Marshall. This will literally be the best receiving corp Eli has had in New York. We can expect him to take advantage of them early and often.
Might As Well Make A Pick
Of course, what fun would football be without a few predictions. So here is Skip’s pick for the opening weekend Sunday night game from Dallas between the Cowboys and the Giants.
