Ole Miss football fans have found themselves wanting and waiting. Ole Miss had found itself sitting tied for the bottom of the SEC West however Ole Miss found a way to beat the Wildcats.

Ole Miss football has been on a roller-coaster since 2015 with more downs than ups. With a fast start which dulled to a mild roar and 3-5 record the Rebels rolled in Lexington and got a huge come from behind win on the arm of Jordan Ta’amu and hands of DK Metcalf.

After Shea Patterson went down for the season we saw the Ole Miss offense struggle against LSU. However, Jordan Ta’amu has risen as the next man up and played remarkably well. The whole Shea Patterson vs Jordan Ta’amu situation has been a very touchy subject for Ole Miss Rebels fans over the past few days.

Personally, I really like Shea Patterson and his family and I hated seeing his season cut short. However, injuries are a part of football and we’ve lost starting quarterbacks in back to back seasons. Of course, Grove Grinder isn’t here to create controversy or fuel an already sore subject. However, we are going to acknowledge the ability of Jordan Ta’amu to step in and step up. He has played admirably. On to the next subject.

Awaiting A Ruling

There have been rumors of the release of the COI ruling to the University of Mississippi admin. Though we really can’t be sure of its contents until the school makes a formal release, we all know we are very ready to be able to put this chapter behind us.

From what I have gathered we could hear the release as early as today or possibly early next week. This could be very exciting news for our football program or could be potentially devastating. Regardless, there will be certain repercussions which inevitably damage the Ole Miss Rebels.

Some so-called ‘pundits’ from TSBU seem to still believe the NCAA COI will hammer us. However, there is a firm belief from many Ole Miss faithful there will a be a positive ruling. Of course, as positive as could be in this situation.

A ruling of accepting the self-imposed sanctions would have an immediate positive effect on the Ole Miss football program. On the other hand, anything more could mean damage to Ole Miss football on every level. Right now Ole Miss football sits with a 4-5 record and a legit shot at winning out this season.

Next: A QB Controversy?

Of course, finishing on a strong note would mean the world for Ole Miss football in the area of recruiting. The Rebels currently sit with only 10 hard commitments. A favorable ruling from the COI would mean the 2018 recruiting class could be salvaged. Along with a strong finish this season and a new  head coach we could see things begin to get much better sooner rather than later. HOTTY TODDY!
