There is nothing wrong with Ole Miss football fans looking ahead into the future after the turbulent past seasons and the NCAA haunts we’ve had to endure.

The past few years have been rough for Ole Miss football. We’ve seen losses which should have been wins. We’ve seen the loss of our former head coach Hugh Freeze. Of course we received sanctions resulting from a bogus NCAA investigation. After all that we had a few transfers which resulted in questions for many Rebels fans.

Of course, it hasn’t all been a wash out for Ole Miss football. There have been some really good things which have happened in a relatively short time. Ole Miss finished their season 6-6 with a 31-28 Egg Bowl victory over No.14 ranked Miss State. Ross Bjork then named interim Matt Luke as the permanent head coach shortly afterward.

Then came the early signing period for Ole Miss football recruiting and the Rebels had 14 recruits sign letters of intent. The class jumped from No.60 to No.34 overnight. Naturally, it’s easy to get excited over our recent good fortune. Spring practice is just around the corner and it’s nice to know we’ll begin another cycle in Ole Miss Rebels football. Since we have something to look forward to, let’s go ahead and look at next season.
