Coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss football recruiting had a huge final Monday leading up to NSD with the commitment of Teaxs WR Miles Battle.

Ole Miss football recruiting has been on a mission. Head coach Matt Luke and his staff have been focused on closing out on one of the best classes we can imagine given the current situation. Of course, there was first the early signing period which was outstanding for this program and staff. Since that time the Ole Miss staff has continued to impress with the addition of a number of top commitments.

One of the Rebels top targets has been Miles Battle out of Cy Creek in Houston, Texas. Battle is rated as a 4-star wide receiver and was recipient of over 28 offers from some of the top schools in the country. The star receiver received offers from Oregon, Baylor, Cal and Arizona among others. Battle took his official visit to Ole Miss on January 26th and soon afterwards it was announced his decision would be between Ole Miss and Oregon.

When Battle announced he would make his decision via twitter Monday evening many people believed Oregon would be his choice. However, there was still some who believed he would pick Ole Miss. Shortly after 5pm Monday Battle made his announcement. Luckily for Ole Miss football recruiting he made his commitment to become a Rebel.

His high school numbers at Cy Creek really speak to the talent Battle possesses. In 3 seasons Battle had 173 receptions for 2,630 yards and 34 TDs. As a return specialist he also had one kick return for a TD. Battle was first team all-district and was selected to Team National in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl.

Of course, Miles Battle is huge get for coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss football recruiting. But Battle is also a huge addition for coach Jacob Peeler and the NWO receiving corp. Battle is a big play threat and a game-changer.

With his size, speed and impeccable talent there is little reason to doubt Battle’s immediate impact in the potent Phil Longo offense. Of course, Battle will be a fun receiver to watch in the coming years of Ole Miss football.

Luke Closing Out Strong

Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke and this staff have done an incredible job with the 2018 recruiting class. Of course, it shows in the national rankings.
