Defense Has To Improve

Although the defense improved throughout the 2017 season they didn’t really ever live up to expectations. Defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff made sure to make some key hires in the off-season to be sure the defense would be much better in 2018. Two key areas which were addressed in the off-season was at linebacker and defensive back. Coach Jon Sumrall and coach Charles Clark were added at those positions.

If Ole Miss football is going to be more successful in 2018 we have to see those two position groups get better. We can expect they’ll be much better this coming season with the addition of the two new assistants and with some new personnel at the positions. Coach Freddie Roach had a major input in the 2018 recruiting class so we should see solid line play in 2018. The sooner we see the other defensive position groups catch the better.
