The 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class continues to get better and this time its with the commitment of a top JUCO safety.

The 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class has been stellar so far and it keeps getting better with each commitment. Coach Matt Luke and his staff have been busy trying to fill this class with some of the best athletes around. Wednesday afternoon Matt Luke and the Rebels picked up another commitment.

This time it was from a top JUCO safety with Mississippi Made ties. Jonathan Haynes of Jones County Junior College gave his verbal to play for the Rebels. Haynes brings the total number of commitments for the 2019 recruiting class to 24. The Rebels are maintaining the No.13 ranked class in the nation and the No.5 ranked class in the SEC.

Jonathan Haynes is rated as a 3-star safety. He is listed at 6’0 and 205 lbs and is a beast in the defensive backfield. He is tall, very fast and has vertical ability to go after the ball at its highest point. When we say Haynes is a good quality safety prospect we aren’t joking. He adds an immediate impact player for the Rebels in the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class.

In recent seasons we’ve seen a lapse in the Ole Miss secondary. Now we see coach Matt and his staff going after quality talent to help shore the defensive backfield. Haynes is the seventh DB to commit to the Rebels in the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class. Haynes is also the fourth safety to commit so far.

This staff has shown they are recruiting hard for defense and the defensive backfield. Other safety commits include Jay Stanley of Brandon, Tavario Standifer of Tupelo and Tyler Judson of Zachery Louisiana. Coach Charles Clark will have a bevy of new safety talent to work with.
