The 2018 Ole Miss football season is getting closer day by day and Ole Hotty Toddy is focusing on the best former and current Rebels in the last decade.
With Ole Miss football just around the corner Ole Hotty Toddy and in the spirit of the Rebels has been ranking former and current players. We began with the ‘Goats of Ole Miss’ and then looked at the Top10 Rebels on the offensive side of ball in the last decade from 2007 thru 2017. Now we look at the Top10 Rebels on the defensive side of the ball for the same period and this will not be easy.
The Ole Miss football program has certainly seen it’s share of success in the past ten years. despite being under the strong armed tactics of the NCAA for over 5 years in the last ten the Rebels have achieved some amazing feats in college football. While many fans are fired up about the upcoming season most are questioning when we will see the return of the Landshark Defense of the past.
When OHT ranked the Top10 offensive players from 2007 to 2017 it wasn’t very hard deciding who needed to be on the list. All you have to do is go look at the Ole Miss record book and you can see the impact which the Rebels offenses have dominated. However, when you look at the defenses in the past 10 years there have only been a handful of Rebels make an impact on the record book despite outstanding performances on the field. Still the list from which the Top10 comes is full of great former Rebels defensive stars. The list was not easy
We all know despite the decline in the Landshark Defense in recent seasons there have been Ole Miss teams in the past decade in which the defenses were very good. Unlike the Top10 Offensive players from 2007-2017 the defensive Top10 does not have a current player. However, maybe we’ll see the defense be better this season and a current player may make the list one day. For now, we give you the Top10 Defensive Rebels from the past decade 2007 thru 2017.
