Week-one of the 2018 NFL season is now in the books and Ole Miss football fans were able to see quite a few NFL Rebels in action on both sides of the ball.

While Ole Miss football fans were still in shell shock over the first half of the 76-41 blowout over Southern Illinois there were NFL Rebels looking to kick off their regular seasons on a positive note. With 25 NFL Rebels on active rosters we expected to see a number of them in action over the first weekend of the 2018 NFL season and we weren’t disappointed.

Probably the biggest storyline of the first NFL Rebels regular season weekend was that of former Ole Miss running-back Jordan Wilkins. Wilkins who is in his rookie season made his first NFL start for the Colts in their season opener. Wilkins may not have had his best day but he was productive and led the Colts backfield in rushing and receiving yards. Of course, Wilkins wasn’t the only former Rebels player in action.

Other NFL Rebels In Action

More from NFL Rebels

Besides Wilkins there were also some veteran NFL Rebels we expected to see in week one. Giants quarterback Eli Manning and tight-end Evan Engram were both in action Sunday. Manning went for 23 of 37 for 234 yards and 1 INT while Engram had 2 receptions for 18 yards.

Former Ole Miss receiver Donte Moncrief who is now with Jacksonville had 1 catch for 14 yards in his Jaguars debut. Minnesota Vikings receiver Laquon Treadwell was in action and had 2 receptions for 18 yards in his season opener.

While the offensive NFL Rebels were players we expected to see stats from there were also a couple of defensive NFL Rebels who were in action. Steelers corner-back Mike Hilton had 3 tackles and 2 pass deflections against the Browns. Cardinals DT Robert Nkemdiche had 3 tackles and 1 sack in his opener.
