Why The Rebels Defense Is 127th

After most of us were willing to live with the defense we saw against Texas Tech it has only gotten worse thru three games. It may sound like its beating a dead horse but we saw a terrible first half against Southern Illinois with the defense playing much better in the last two quarters. We hoped  and somewhat expected to see improvements from the Rebels Saturday night against the Tide but there were none.

When you put the statistics thru three games on the table it is easy to see the problems. So far the Rebels defense has given up 130 points and 1,631 yards. The Rebels defense has given up 615 yards rushing which is an improvement from last season but have allowed 1,016 passing yards. True Bama has a very good team but the defense was severely lacking. Besides allowing 516 yards of Bama offense the Rebels also gave up 27 first downs to the Tide. The inability to get off the field was a killer for Ole Miss and it showed in the final score.
