Touches Matter

JUCO transfer Scottie Phillips has had an outstanding 2018 season so far. Currently Scottie Phillips is sitting at No.2 in the SEC in rushing with 108 carries for 723 yards and 9 TDs. Scottie is solid averaging 6.7 yards per carry and has proven to be as reliable with the ball in his hands as he is durable. Why not get him more touches?

Look, Phillips is a play-maker who could be getting a few more carries sure. What we mean is why isn’t he being used more out of the backfield? So far in 2018 Scottie has only had 6 receptions for 57 yards. Two of those receptions went for TDs. No matter how you slice it if you put the ball in his hands he is money. More touches for Phillips could pay off in the short pass game if Auburn isn’t on their toes.
