A number of Ole Miss football players are entering the 2019 NFL Draft and we are expecting quarterback Jordan Ta’amu to find an early spot.

There has been an excitement building behind the scenes among NFL scouts for this Ole Miss football NFL Draft class and it has been centered mostly around the play of senior quarterback Jordan Ta’amu. During the recent week leading into the East/West Shrine game the QB had his fair share of attention from the NFL scouts.

While Ta’amu didn’t rack up huge numbers in the East/West Shrine Game he was very proficient and made some big ‘NFL-ish’ completions. Ta’amu went 7 of 11 for 98 yards and looked very comfortable against the nation’s best seniors he faced on defense. What we are sure of is he had a very long look by a few NFL teams and we expect Ta’amu to make a landing in the 2019 NFL Draft.

When you look at prototypical QB in any NFL lineup then you look for a number of things. No.1 you always look for the arm first and foremost. No.2 you look for pocket presence. No.3 you look for awareness and reads. Then finally, you look for mobility. It’s a question of just how long an NFL QB can extend a play and make a play happen? In the NFL every play matters and it also does with Jordan Ta’amu.

While some Ole Miss haters will take the anti-Ta’amu approach they will likely end up very wrong and we will be able to say “I told you so!” with Jordan Ta’amu and this NFL Draft pick. Still there will be naysayers who want to point out his faults yet there aren’t really many. Ta’amu was thrown into the fire of the 2017 SEC season and took care of business. There is no-way in which you could ask Jordan Ta’amu do as a Ole Miss quarterback.

Jordan Will Go Early

When you look at the number of games which Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has played and you look at his numbers you can easily see his progression as a QB and you can understand the NFL interest. While in Oxford Ta’amu has proven himself against some of the best defenses in the SEC and the nation.

This past season alone Ta’amu managed the 7th most productive offense and was the play-caller for three of the best WRs in the nation who are all expected to be early draft picks. When you look at Ta’amu you immediately see an athlete but there is more to the ‘Throwin Samoan’ than just athleticism. Ta’amu is unique and could easily make his own mark in the NFL.

More On Ta’amu

In less than two seasons Jordan Ta’amu has produced one of the best stories every in college football. Where could a JUCO QB from Mexico Military Institute end up and be a success story? This should be one of the focal points of the 2019 NFL Draft in my own opinion. NFL teams are looking for that immediate impact player which gives them wins.

Ta’amu brings that element and also takes advantage of his weapons. Just imagine Ta’amu in a NFL lineup next season, it could be a spectacle and NFL teams have already noticed it.Ta’amu represents not just what Ole Miss football is but also what makes the difference to NFL scouts around the league. It’s not all who you know but apparently you can do and Ta’amu has done all he can possibly done.

Next. The GOATS of Ole Miss. dark

So while  we await for the 2019 NFL Draft we also await the landing spots for some of the top players in the SEC and Ole Miss. One of those players is Jordan Ta’amu and along with his Ole Miss teammates may be one of the top targets in the 2019 NFL Draft. Good luck to Jordan as he furthers his career and good call for his landing spot! Hotty Toddy!
