Coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss basketball will be looking to get back in the win column Saturday as they host the Georgia Bulldogs in Oxford.

Coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss basketball (18-8, 8-5) will be back in action Saturday when the Rebels host the Georgia Bulldogs(10-16, 1-12) in The Pavilion. Ole Miss is entering the matchup coming off a rough 79-64 SEC road loss to South Carolina this past Tuesday which broke a four game Rebels win streak.

The Georgia Bulldogs enter Oxford coming off a 68-67 loss to Miss State Wednesday night in a game which Georgia should have won. Coach Kermit Davis and the Rebels won the previous meeting with Georgia 80-64 in Athens. With just five games left in the regular season the Rebels need this win but Georgia wont make it easy for the Rebels. OHT looks at some of the Georgia Bulldogs key players.

Coached by Tom Crean the Georgia Bulldogs are a very talented team which has had some tough losses this season. However, despite their overall record they are well coached and loaded with some great players. When you look at the team leaders its hard to look past sophomore forward Nicolas Claxton. Claxton leads the Bulldogs in almost every category.

Claxton leads the Dogs in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game. Claxton also leads the Dogs in rebounds with 9.0 boards per game.  Claxton also leads the Dogs in assists, blocks and steals. Claxton averages 2.1 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.2 steals per game. Junior guard Jordan Harris leads the Dogs in 3 point field goal percentage hitting 39.5% of his shots from beyond the arc.

Observations

While the 2018-2019 Ole Miss basketball season has been deemed a success under first year head coach Kermit Davis the Rebels have given up some huge losses. Against South Carolina we watched the Rebels jump out in front 13-2 only to loss momentum, give up the huge lead and lose by 15 points. The Rebels cant afford to squander opportunities as they look towards potential post season play beyond the SEC Tourney.

Coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss basketball take the court in The Pavilion Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:30pm CT and the game can be viewed via SEC Network. Good luck to coach Kerm and the Rebels as they take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Hotty Toddy!
