On The Offense

Naturally the total talent level is what we want to see but we also have specific players we will be watching. There is no doubt Rebels fans eyes will be on red-shirt freshman QB Matt Corral. We watched Corral have a tough Grove Bowl in 2018 but he developed quickly and was productive in the 2018 season. Eyes will also be on true freshmen QBs Grant Tisdale and Kinkead Dent. We want to see their progressions of course, but we are also interested in seeing the Rebels on the receiving end.

The NWO was hit particularly hard with three WRs heading to the NFL. Now with the new NWO we will be watching very young receivers. Sophomore Elijah Moore and red-shirt freshman Miles Battle will certainly make an impact next Saturday and during the 2019 season. Rebels fans should also be watching JUCO transfer Dontario Drummond. With the loss of Dawson Knox to the NFL draft we will also be watching to see what the TE position looks like in the Rich Rod offense and eyes will be on seniors Jason Pellerin and Octavious Cooley.

The Rich Rod Offense. light. Related Story

So far this spring we have already learned there is a major focus from Rich Rod on the Rebels running game. Last season we watched as senior RB Scottie Phillips ran up great numbers and we want to see more. Also out of the backfield we are watching sophomore RBs Tylan Knight, whose had a great spring, and Isaiah Woullard who was productive in his freshman season. Personally I am anxious to see Snoop Conner who should get snaps in the Grove Bowl. Naturally we are expecting much better OL play in the new offense.
