Both No.10 Ole Miss baseball and No.9 Ole Miss softball will be hosting SEC series this weekend in Oxford and it is expected to be a big weekend.

This weekend is expected to be a big one for No.10 Ole Miss baseball (24-10, 8-4) and No.9 Ole Miss softball (28-10, 7-4). Both Ole Miss diamond teams will be in action and hosting SEC series in Oxford. Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball will be hosting Kentucky while coach Mike Smith and Ole Miss softball will be hosting Missouri.

Both teams have seen a great deal of success in 2019 and it has been great watching them play this season. This past weekend No.10 Ole Miss baseball swept No.16 Florida while No.9 Ole Miss softball earned the series win over N0.22 Kentucky. Both teams have been rolling thru the tough competition week in and week out.

Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss softball will hit the diamond at Ole Miss Softball Complex on Friday to face the Missouri Tigers coming off a tight 3-2 midweek win over the UAB Blazers. Because of expected inclement weather over the weekend the Rebels will be forced to begin the SEC series with a late double-header Friday night with the final game set for Sunday.

We hope the storms stay away from this series. The Rebel have already had several games cancelled because of weather with one being an SEC road game. At South Carolina the Rebels were leading in game-three when the game went into a rain delay and was eventually cancelled taking a possible series win away from the Rebels.

Coach Mike Smith and No.9 Ole Miss softball has been rolling hard and are looking to extend a 3 game win streak and having won 14 of their last 17 games. We have to believe the Rebels will do well and probably keep rolling. Game-one for the weekend series is set for 3pm CT Friday and game-two is set to begin at 6pm CT with both game being televised via SECN+.

Showers For Swayze

Will we see showers for Swayze Field this weekend when No.10 Ole Miss baseball hits the diamond? It’s likely we will. Last weekend the Rebels racked up 40 runs on 49 hits against the No.16 Florida Gators in a great offensive display. The Rebels continued their roll in their midweek game in Pearl with an 11-2 win over Southern Miss. Both the Gators and the Golden Eagles pitching staffs were wrecked by the Rebels batting order.

Coach Mike Bianco and No.10 Ole Miss baseball are on a 4 game win streak and have won 12 of their 17 last games since beginning SEC play and have succeeded at the plate. We can expect to see some showers at the Swayze this weekend. The Rebels will be in action Friday night at Swayze with first pitch coming at 6:30pm CT with the game being available for view on SECN+.

Now we look forward to the rest of the weekend. Good luck to both coach Mike Smith and coach Mike Bianco and both Rebels diamond teams throughout the weekend. Hotty Toddy!
