Coach Mike Smith and No.15 Ole Miss softball will be back in action Wednesday night as they begin the SEC Tourney in College Station.

After closing out the 2019 regular season coach Mike Smith and No.15 Ole Miss softball (36-13, 13-10) are ready for the SEC Tournament in College Station. After being robbed three-games at  Georgia in a very controversial Athens SEC series the Rebels land in the SEC Tourney as a No.5 seed. The Rebels begin the SEC Tourney Wednesday night with a 8pm first pitch.

The Rebels will face the winner of the play-in game, between No.12 seed Mississippi State and No.13 seed Texas A&M, which will be played at 10am Wednesday morning. The tournament is single elimination and should the Rebels win their first game they will face No.4 seed Kentucky Thursday night. OHT takes a closer look at the Rebels and what they have accomplished thus far in 2019.

Ole Miss Rebels

There is no doubt among Rebels fans, coach Mike Smith has done an outstanding job with Ole Miss softball making them perennial winners on the diamond. The 2019 Ole Miss softball season was no different with the Rebels winning 36 games.

Yes, there were some tough losses. Yes, there was plenty of controversy. Yes, the Rebels season began tough and stayed tough. The Rebels also stayed tough.

While many college softball teams began 2019 playing ‘cupcakes’, the Rebels didn’t. Ole Miss softball began its season with some very big wins which included a 3-1 win over No.21 Minnesota and followed it up with a four-game sweep in the Ole Miss Classic.

The Rebels began the SEC portion of their schedule taking the series from the Razorbacks and then followed it up with a win over No.18 Oklahoma State and a controversial series split with No.16 South Carolina.

The Rebels went on to take 5 consecutive SEC series over No.6 Florida, No.22 Kentucky, Missouri, Miss State and No.9 Tennessee before being swept (robbed) by No.14 Georgia and the SEC officiating which has been terrible for the entire SEC thru the 2019 season.

The Rebels will begin their SEC Tourney run Wednesday night at 8pm CT and the game will be televised via SECN+. Good luck to coach Mike Smith and Ole Miss softball on their No.5 seed and in the 2019 SEC Softball Tournament. Hotty Toddy!
