Ole Miss Baseball: Rebels drop game to Hogs in Hoover
Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball were back in action Wednesday as they faced off against Arkansas in the SEC Tourney in Hoover.
Ole Miss baseball was back on the diamond at Hoover Met Wednesday as they were up against No.2 seed Arkansas. The No.7 seed Rebels entered the game coming off a 3-2 win over Missouri Tuesday. The Razorbacks would be a tough opponent for Bianco and the Rebels in the second round of the SEC Tourney in Hoover.
The Hogs struck first with 1 run in the bottom of the first inning to take the early 1-0 lead. Arkansas extended the lead to 2-0 with 1 run in the bottom of the third. The Rebels made it a 2-2 game in the top of the fifth and took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth.
The Hogs answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth to retake the lead at 4-3. The Hogs added a run in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 5-3 game which ultimately was the final score. OHT looks at the Rebels loss by the numbers.

In the second round loss there were 4 Rebels who combined for 5 hits at the plate. Leading all Rebels was junior Thomas Dillard who went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. Senior Ryan Olenek and sophomore Anthony Servideo each went 1 for 3 while junior Cole Zabowski went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI. Junior Grae Kessinger and freshman Kevin Graham each had 1 RBI.
On the hill junior left-hander Zack Phillips drew the start for Mike Bianco and the Rebels. Phillips went for 5.2 innings allowing 4 earned run on 4 hits with 3 Ks, 2 BB, 1 HBP and 1 WP. Junior right-hander Austin Miller entered in the sixth and went 1.1 innings. Miller allowed 1 earned run on 1 hit with 1 K and 1 BB. Junior right-hander Houston Roth entered in the eighth and finished out the mound going 1.0 inning allowing 0 hits with 1 K and 1 WP.
Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball will be back in action Thursday as they face TAMU in an elimination game. First pitch from Hoover is set for 9:30am CT and the game will be televised via the SEC Network. Good luck to the Rebels. Hotty Toddy!
