Lane Kiffin is always on the lookout for talented wide receivers from the transfer portal. Could the next one be North Texas transfer Ja’Mori Maclin?

Ole Miss will be looking closely at the wide receivers hitting the transfer portal through December. We still don’t know if Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins or Dayton Wade will be staying for one more season. However, Zakhari Franklin looks like he won’t be with the team next season.

Harris, Watkins and Wade all had over 700 receiving yards this season and could be back. However, it won’t stop Lane Kiffin from looking to strengthen the receiver room.

Kiffin has already sent his first offer to a wide receiver in Ja’Mori Maclin. The North Texas transfer has also received offers from 11 other teams, including LSU, Texas A&M and Colorado.

Ja’Mori Maclin, a 2020 recruit, transferred to the Green Machine from Missouri at the end of the 2021 season. In his first season with North Texas, Maclin had 16 catches for 380 yards and two TDs. In his second season, his production soared, with 57 catches for 1,004 yards and 11 TDs.

The 5-foot-11 receiver led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns this season.

Maclin still has two years of eligibility left, with him redshirting the first season in Missouri and then failing to make the field in his second season due to injury.

Kiffin has some stiff competition for the signing of Ja’Mori Maclin. However, his history with wide receivers from the transfer portal looks good on paper.

Tre Harris was a transfer from a Group of Five conference team and led the team in receiving yards despite missing three games.

There will be plenty more receivers will be looking at, but Ja’Mori Maclin would be a great addition to the roster.
